My name is Jerusha Ignacio & as a member of Tinian Baptist Church, I was asked to create this GoFundMe on behalf of Tinian Baptist Church. I am the niece of Rose Ignacio who runs the church.
On December 24, 2021 on Christmas Eve, our home church Tinian Baptist Church, caught on fire. The fire started in our fellowship hall where just the Sunday before, we had our church Christmas dinner. We were devastated to hear of this unfortunate incident.
The fellowship hall is where the kitchen and restrooms were located. Local area fire departments responded quickly but the fellowship hall was completely destroyed. By God’s grace, the fire did not spread to the main church building but there are damages to the church windows. The fire department was able to put out a burning pole that left a hole in the main church wall.
Our church community is asking for donations to help in the rebuilding cost. The funding raised from this GoFundMe will cover demolition and also help support the rebuilding funds. Tinian Baptist church is located in Tinian, New Mexico on the eastern part of the Navajo Reservation and it has been a stronghold in the community for many years.
Tinian Baptist Church members still got together the following Sunday and with no electricity or water we were still able to praise and worship the wonderful God we serve. We have a lot to be thankful for and we are now reaching out to the community for help. Tinian Baptist church will be rebuilt. God bless you and we thank you in advance for your support!
