Thank you for your donation to Thoreau Navajo Outreach. Your donation has been distributed to various Navajo families in need. This pandemic has taken a toll on the entire nation. Our Navajo Nation alone has been on lockdown for some time. When we heard that the Navajo Nation was finally heading for a “soft” re-opening we felt optimistic. We hadn’t felt that in such a long time.
We have lost many elders; many children have lost parents. Sadly, burials for those lost were limited to only a few and done with great precaution. It’s been one year today when our great Navajo Nation learned of its first COVID-19 case. Yesterday had been the first day that the Navajo Nation had zero deaths due to COVID and no new cases.
God has been merciful to us. Your donation comes at such a fragile time. Many of our people have been broken by this pandemic. Lives fractured. Donations like yours is helping to mend the pieces torn apart. It’s good to see people helping other people. It is however sad to hear of the growing hatred being fueled across the nation.
Our Asian brothers and sisters suffer greatly. Our hearts go out to those experiencing this hatred. We pray for all of God’s hurting people. It’s the love and generosity of donors like you who give many a glimmer of hope. We are thankful for you. You give us hope.
