At-Risk Women and Children Find Hope

The White Mountain Independent newspaper in Show Low, Ariz. published an article about the dire conditions in women’s shelters in Navajo and Apache counties with the loss of government funding here. Shelters for women and children who are escaping domestic violence are often run on a shoestring budget – if you can even call it that.

But God is faithful to provide and we believe He orchestrated the circumstances that led to a meeting, which has now resulted in Wings of Faith adding a domestic violence shelter and resource center to our fold: New Hope Ranch in St. Johns, Ariz. The shelter is partly supported by a thrift store, and the people who operate the two ministries are strong Christians.

The New Hope Pregnancy Center welcomes new mothers and assists them with diapers and clothing for babies and young children. Baby formula and snacks are sometimes available, as well as car seats and baby furniture occasionally when those items are donated. Bibles and emotional support are always there!

They have specifically asked Wings of Faith for Bibles, which we are more than eager to send their way, along with other relevant items that come our way from various donors.

St. Johns is the county seat of Apache County, Arizona, and is located along U.S. Route 180, mostly west of where that highway intersects with U.S. Route 191. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 3,480.

Please join us in prayer for this vital ministry, and thank you for your donations that will assist them.
