With hope-filled hearts, Wings of Faith volunteers are preparing for our annual Christmas Airlift for thousands of children on American Indian Reservations in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, South Dakota and Mexican outreaches near the border.
By God’s grace, this will be our 42nd year of delivering new toys, games, blankets and clothing to thousands of underprivileged children, bringing Christmas joy and love where many would otherwise have no celebration of the season. Most of the areas where we serve have a true winter where temperatures drop below freezing at night. On Indian reservations, poverty is common and tribes face a number of social and economic challenges. 23% of homes have deficiencies in plumbing, kitchen, heating, electrical and maintenance (vs. 5% of all U.S. homes).
Please join us and help bring the light of Christ to these places that are often described as less than third-world and with the highest rate of poverty of any racial group in the U.S. —almost twice the national average.
But we share the wealth of a Savior who can make an eternal impact in their lives! We work year-round purchasing and sorting toys and gifts with donations earmarked for Christmas Airlift. In some cases, additional shoes and clothing that are donated by other sources are included as well. Each gift is prayed over and includes a Scripture message of the Christ Child’s birth.
Pilots, private airplanes, trucks and drivers transport forty-gallon bags and 3 cubic ft. boxes, occasionally requiring two trips by airplane to deliver. Between pilots and drivers we travel 10,000 miles to deliver these gifts. Our volunteers are eager for nothing more than taking the Gospel to all nations, and with your help, you’re also sharing in the Great Commission!
