On January 21/22, 2013, we witnessed an unprecedented meeting of over 60 representatives of various churches, non profits and ministries serving on the reservations. They we all invited to the First Southern Baptist Church of Holbrook(Pastor Jim Minick hosted the meetings) to discuss ways to work together on the reservations, train Pastors and Missionaries, promote the economy, mentor disciples and many other subjects. The meetings were met with enthusiastic support across the various reservations (a first) and various denominations(unusual) and the Holy Spirit was leading the way. One of the needs that the Pastors expressed was more training and spiritual feeding for themselves, hence the meetings that will occur early next month in Whiteriver, this is the follow up meeting to our January Holbrook meeting. Another all missions conference will be held in April to get more needs met, and clarify goals and assignments. Led by the organizational skills of Operation 29:11 and Magnolia Baptist Church in Anaheim, CA, breakout sessions included topics like housing, education, mentoring, pastoring and a sustainable recovery of the reservation people. (Sustainability) Praise God for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the specific needs expressed and those that will be met next week at the Pastor’s Conference in Whiteriver, worthy of your prayer!
On March 1-2: We will attend the Native American Missions Conference in Whiteriver… this is the follow up meeting to our January Holbrook meeting.
