Rick and I drove the minivan, that God provided for the ministry’s benefit to The Encouragement House in AJ this month. As we loaded it for the drive west, I was overwhelmed by all the donations of books, CDs and Bibles that came in for us to distribute on our Encouragement Trips to the reservations. Without so many of you participating in this ministry to our brothers and sisters in Christ on the reservations, this ministry would not exist. We give God all the Praise, Honor and Glory for his provision that meets the needs of the ministry. We humbly thank Him and You for everything that you do!
Would you please join me in praying that these
Christian resources going to the reservations will meet a specific need in the person who receives them?
We made a stop in Farmington, NM to drop off
4 boxes of Encouragement Blankets to a Navajo friend who ordered them as Christmas gifts for her family.
Rick was able to get in some encouraging over a
round of golf with Harold and AD in Farmington while I spent some time over breakfast with Denise and then joined Rick, Harold & AD for lunch. Everyone was encouraged through our conversations. A God day!
Donations of clothes, shoes, books, CDs & Bibles ready to go to San Carlos for Carla and Nia to distribute.
JoJo and Javier receive gifts a supporter sent with me.
Felicia and I spent a day catching up over pizza and a trip up Pinal Mountain. On our way up the mountain the temperature dropped 24 degrees (from 88 to 64) and we began to see and smell the pines…..so soothing to the soul. Felicia said, “This trip is therapeutic to me.” I agreed with her! Mountains have a way of doing that to us as we see the majesty of God in His finest! She shared what God is doing in her life over lunch and after our trip up the mountain she picked some books and CDs out to take home. A blessed day!
Carla and her family were given a wonderful opportunity to share about the ministry of EOAI when they were invited by Wings of Faith to speak at their 40th Anniversary celebration in Corona, California. Wings of Faith is a ministry partner with EOAI blessing San Carlos with regular drops of hard good at the San Carlos airport. They have been an amazing blessing to Carla and her ministry there! Carla, her two daughters and their families along with her parents drove over for the celebration. What a blessing and an encouragement it was for their family. As they shared about the needs on San Carlos, they made new friends and blessed those that attended the Pancake Breakfast in the Hangar at the airport in Corona. After the celebration they were able to take their 8 grandchildren to the beach. None of them had seen the ocean before so it was a particularly sweet time for them. God is soooo good to us when we follow Him in obedience and this family is seeing that over and over and over in their lives. We thank God for Wings of Faith!

Carla’s cousin, who is a Christian, has been going through some struggles that has left him depressed and wanting to die. Several months ago his diabetes got out of control and he needed to have his foot amputated. After that happened to him he basically gave up on life. His wife and family have struggled with how to help him. Three weeks ago his other foot became infected and he had to have that one amputated. Through much prayer from his friends and family, this 2nd amputation has saved his life. He has decided to come back to the Lord and rededicated his life to living for Jesus. Carla and I were blessed to be able to visit him at the rehab hospital and encourage him in his walk with Jesus. The day we visited was his wife’s birthday. She has been by his side throughout his ordeal, sleeping in a chair at the hospital, struggling to take care of her basic needs. After sharing birthday cake at the hospital with her and her husband, Carla and I whisked her off to dinner and a movie (War Room….she loved it!). Then we took her back to The Encouragement House where she was able to get a shower, do her laundry and get a good nights sleep in a real bed. The next morning after breakfast, we took her to the Superstition Mountain Museum and had some fun before returning her to her husband at the rehab hospital. We all had such a good time talking about Jesus and all He does for us. This time we spent encouraging our sweet sister in Christ was sweet!
Carla and I prepare to go into the rehab hospital with a birthday balloon, my friends guitar which he asked us to bring for him and cake for the birthday celebration.
Me, Garlene and Carla enjoy some silly time together.
Break my heart God, for what breaks yours…..God broke my heart anew for what breaks His, this past month. Friends from two families on the San Carlos Reservation have felt and answered a call from God to reach out to their people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Once a month God has asked them to go to a different neighborhood on the reservation and share what God has done in their lives. Both families have been delivered from meth and alcohol and have found new life in Christ. With God’s help, they are now making a Christian home for their families and providing for their own needs. They have truly had a miracle of deliverance from the grip of the enemy. As they shared with Carla what God had put on their hearts, God called EOAI to participate in their outreaches by providing physical items to the Natives who attend the Outreach. My friends and EOAI understand that in order for people to hear the Good News, their physical needs must be met so that their minds are clear to hear and understand that God loves them. This past month was the first Outreach. Approximately 150 Natives from the LaBamba neighborhood attended. The enemy has a stronghold over this entire neighborhood in the form of drugs and alcohol. My friends put up several tents, played Christian music, sang songs that told of God’s deliverance, testified as to how God had delivered them from their addictions, and prayed with individuals while EOAI provided distribution of clothing, shoes, soap, Christian books for the adults and children, backpacks with school supplies, soup, trail mix and Bibles. Praise God, one man gave his life to Christ after hearing the Good News!
My heart was broken anew when four bags of shoes were poured out on to the ground and disappeared in less than 5 minutes. When the shoes were gone, many people continued to ask if there were any shoes left. Shoes…something I have plenty of…Shoes… something my Native friends struggle to get. Shoes…a necessary item for life. Mothers desperately asking for shoes for their children…..As I witnessed these mothers and children asking for shoes, God broke my heart anew. I simply wanted to cry but could not, that had to be saved for later.
Natives line up at the food table to receive
a free dinner, the highlight of the Outreach for them.
Shoes…..something we all have…..something we all may have too many of….. Would you be willing to look in your closet and see if you have too many shoes? If you do, would you be willing to ship those extra shoes to Arizona for distribution on the San Carlos Apache reservation so that during these Outreaches, the physical need of shoes can be met in order to clear people’s minds to enable them to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ? If you have shoes to share, please ship them through the Post Office (UPS will not ship to a PO Box) to: Carla Kinney, P. O. Box 1171, San Carlos, AZ 85550.

It’s Fall Again…..Fall means blanket collection time for our brothers and sisters in Christ on the San Carlos Apache Reservation who are struggling to keep warm because they have no electricity/heat in their homes. If you have a blanket(s) to donate, please ship through the Post Office (UPS does not ship to a PO Box) to: Carla Kinney, P. O. Box 1171, San Carlos, AZ 85550. Thank you in advance for loving on your brothers and sisters in Christ on San Carlos by sharing your resources with them.
"This is how we know what love is:
Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
and
we ought to lay down our lives
for our brothers and sisters.
If anyone has material possessions
and
sees a brother or sister in need
but has no pity on them,
how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children,
let us not love with words or speech
but
with actions and in truth." I John 3:16-18
