We’re on our way, flying off into severe clear skies for our annual trek to Oshkosh, WI for the EAA AirVenture 2012, the world’s greatest aviation fly-in convention which runs from July 23rd through July 29th.
We’ll be setting up our exhibit in a tent with about 10 other missionary organizations to swap hangar stories, meet hundreds of visitors, including private, commercial and military pilots who come by for the latest scoop on Wings of Faith. Dale and his crew will be on hand each day showing videos, handing out fliers and recruiting pilots, volunteers and sponsors.
Check out the stats:
10,000 aircraft fly in from 75 nations
550,000 visitors
750 exhibits
2500 show planes
1000 forums, workshops and seminars
Lining up on the flightline: Warbirds, Homebuilts, Vintage and Ultralights
There will be celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the Piper J-3 Cub, and 40th of Vans RV aircraft, which will be highlighted by the Oshkosh debut of Team RV, the world’s largest air show team. Air shows day and night, concerts, fireworks, movies, and a re-enactment of the Pearl Harbor attack highlighting the “Warbirds Extravaganza” are just a few of the planned events. It promises to be the epicenter of the aviation world.
What an awesome way to fellowship and spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior!
