From the Corona Airport 14+ pilot volunteers make 80 flights per year serve Native American Indians in Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. They are opening a hub in the 4-corners area for a hangar and warehouse which should be completed in about 2 weeks. The fourteen tribes on the 27 reservations in these areas have great challenges. They are remote, accessible only by dirt roads. This situation does not attract industry. The unemployment rate is 55%. Child neglect and abuse, as well as many orphans, create a recipe for disaster. “They are the poor of the poor,” said Tom Leedom. In addition, many wells are contaminated from ancient mining operations. Wings of Faith has built churches, dug water wells, supplied food, blankets and teaching materials (though the US government gives teachers support). Wings of Faith operates globally, as well as through-out the United States. Tom joined the organization as a volunteer pilot in 2007 and soon after was appointed to the Board. He was elected President in 2015. He is married to his wife of 48 years, Paula, and they have two children and 5 grandchildren. He grew up in Lakewood and attended the University of Oregon majoring in business.
